Before you make plans
Choose the installation date and immersion day separately
Ganesh Chaturthi marks the opening observance. Anant Chaturdashi marks the principal final Visarjan day, but a household or mandal may immerse its murti earlier according to its own tradition. Confirm that plan before booking travel or making arrangements.
Check the procession arrangements locally
A festival date does not specify a procession departure time or an immersion slot. Confirm the route, permitted immersion place and timing with your mandal or local authority. For installation-day tithi details, use the Ganesh Chaturthi page and its city timings.
Rishi Panchami is a separate observance
Rishi Panchami appears here because it falls in the same Bhadrapada fortnight. It is a separate vrata, not a required step in every Ganeshotsav celebration. Tithis do not each occupy exactly one civil day, so the dates should not be inferred by counting forward from Chaturthi.
